A heartfelt thank you to the Seneca Summer Camp at Yorkgate Mall for welcoming 31 Division’s Black Creek Neighbourhood officers to engage with the campers. Our officers had the privilege of giving an interactive presentation on essential safety topics, including how to recognize and respond to stranger danger, who to contact in an emergency, and practical safety tips for staying safe in public spaces.

31 Division proudly partnered with Tim Hortons for the 11th annual Community Safety Day, celebrating the dedicated work of our Emergency Service employees who make a difference in our community. A special thank you goes to @dukeheightsbia for generously providing backpacks for students returning to school.

We had a great time at Westview Centennial Secondary School for the “Honda Indy Bike Ride” program, organized by The Children’s Breakfast Club @childrensbreakfastclub. The students participated in hands-on sessions, including helmet and brake fitting, serial number documentation, and a road and bicycle safety seminar. 🚴🏽‍♀️🚴🏽🚴🏾‍♂️ It was fantastic to see everyone so engaged and ready to ride safely!

The Toronto Police Service and the 31 Division CPLC is proud to announce that we have partnered with the Jamaican Canadian Association for a $1000.00 education Scholarship for anyone is entering there first year of College or University. This is open to residents who live in the boundaries of 31 Division interested in Law enforcement or Justice studies only. This is a excellent way to invest in the educational aspirations of our youth to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community we serve.

What an incredible day at the 31 Division CPLC Open House BBQ & Bursary Award Ceremony! We had so much fun celebrating our amazing community and recognizing our outstanding Bursary recipients—congratulations to all of you! Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring.

On March 27, 2024, we convened at the Driftwood Community Recreation Centre for a pivotal Town Hall Community Meeting. The gathering focused on "Supporting Youth," a theme explored through diverse perspectives by various stakeholders. Discussions revolved around the impactful programs offered by @communityconnect.to, designed to equip our youth with the necessary skills for future employment opportunities.

On March 20, 2024, during a formal ceremony, Superintendent Singh formally acknowledged and praised the exceptional contributions and efforts of the officers within the community. He highlighted their dedication and hard work, stating that such outstanding service merited public recognition and commendation. This acknowledgment serves as a testament to the positive impact these officers have had on the community through their commitment and exemplary performance.

In an inspiring display of community solidarity, the Driftwood Community, in collaboration with Toronto Police Service's 31 Division and Chaplains, invited everyone to participate in a Prayer Walk Wednesday, February 28th, at 3pm.

A heartfelt appreciation goes out to the Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA). The Toronto Police Service 31 Division thoroughly enjoyed the company of everyone present at the Boonoonoonos Brunch, in celebration of Black History Month. The event was marked by memorable moments from various speakers, delightful performances by dancing children, enchanting music, and the inspiring Hon. Dr. Jean Augustine recounting her pioneering journey as the first African Canadian woman elected to the House of Commons—a true trailblazer.

We express our profound gratitude to our friend Ankur and the dedicated staff at the Sheppard Ave West MuchoBurrito for their unwavering support of our community initiatives and first responders. Their generosity and commitment to giving back have played a pivotal role in bolstering our efforts to serve the community effectively. Through their support, they have not only nourished our bodies but also our spirits, demonstrating a remarkable partnership that extends far beyond mere business interactions. Their contribution is a testament to the power of community collaboration and the positive impact businesses can have on local initiatives and those who work tirelessly to keep us safe.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Canadian Blind Hockey for extending an invitation to 31 Division, allowing us to come out and lend our support in teaching the players how to skate. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to spend quality time with all the players, sharing laughs, learning moments, and the sheer joy of skating. Furthermore, reuniting with our good friend Joey the goalie was the cherry on top of a memorable day. His presence always adds a special touch to the camaraderie and spirit of the event.

We had a highly productive meeting with remarkable members of our community and various community partners, where we delved into crucial issues such as Community Safety, Youth Engagement, and the support needed for Parents and Seniors.

31 Division Officers had the privilege of attending a special ceremony at the Grandravine Community Centre, orchestrated by MPP Michael Kerzner. During this event, he presented the “King Charles III Coronation Pin” to several community members as a token of appreciation for their diverse contributions to the community. We're proud to mention that Superintendent Andy Singh and NCO Glenn Jones were honoured to be among the awardees.

We are profoundly thankful to an incredible anonymous benefactor whose generosity knows no bounds. This kind-hearted individual has graciously supplied a substantial quantity of turkeys, hams, and potatoes, bringing the festive spirit directly to the tables of families in need during this holiday season. Their anonymity adds a special touch to their giving, reminding us of the pure joy of selfless generosity.

On a crisp Friday last week, officers from 31 Division had the delightful opportunity to participate in the much-anticipated Emery Village Santa Claus Parade. The procession, brimming with festive spirit and community joy, made its way through the local streets, eventually concluding at the scenic Strathburn Park. This annual parade, a highlight of the holiday season, brought together residents and visitors alike in a colorful celebration of cheer and goodwill.

We extend our profound gratitude to The Children's Breakfast Club for their exceptional generosity in providing coats for the children in our Division from their annual coat drive. This thoughtful gesture goes far beyond keeping our young ones warm; it embodies the spirit of community support and compassion that is essential during the colder months.

Human Trafficking is the forced exploitation of another person typically for sexual purposes. Human traffickers seek out young, particularly high school aged, teens who they groom and exercise control over by a variety of means including deception, threats, manipulation and violence.

On a bright and sunny day, the NCOs, eagerly gathered at Shoreham Park, with anticipation for the first-ever Wellness Event organized exclusively for the esteemed residents of the Neighbourhood. The atmosphere was abuzz with excitement and a sense of camaraderie, as everyone eagerly awaited the commencement of this much-anticipated event.

31 Division NCOs, in partnership and collaboration with the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC), proudly organized and hosted the inaugural Coffee with a Cop event at the esteemed location of 2195 Jane Street.

As the summer comes to an end and a new school year begins, there is an exciting addition awaiting students - the brand new Lego program!

On the sunny Sunday of September 10, 2023, the dedicated officers of 31 Division, both NCOs and CPLC members, enthusiastically took part in the Back to School BBQ event hosted by MPP Michael Kerzner at Roding Park.

On September 7, 2023, the 8th annual charity golf tournament was hosted by the East Asian Internal Support Network (EA-ISN) and the 31 Division Community Policing Liaison Committee (CPLC) at the Upper Unionville Golf Club.

Faith had been dreaming incessantly about a brand new bicycle that would become her ultimate source of joy and freedom. And, lo and behold, last week, her long-awaited dream miraculously transformed into a tangible reality!

The “Ace Fore Success” Golf Program for our neighbourhood youth has concluded. We’re excited to share a few highlights from the journey of our young golfers. Thanks to the support from Humber Valley Golf Club @torontogolflessons and ProAction @copsandkidsca

The Skills Trade Development Program (STDP) was created to empower justice-involved individuals who face higher barriers of entry, and enhance pathways into meaningful and gainful careers.

"Coffee with a Cop" event at Starbucks on Sheppard Ave W near Weston Rd today was great. Thank you to everyone who attended, it was awesome to meet members of the community and have open conversations. Also, thanks to the staff for their hospitality and patience as they make their job look easier than it really is.

Staff Sgt Wallace and Sgt Filippin were honoured to attend the James Cardinal McGuigan Graduation. They presented two awards, the Father Fred Mazzarella Award and the Community Police Liaison 31 Division Bursary Award. Congratulations and good luck to all the new graduates!

"Make Your Future" career fair for youth! With over 500 attendees, it's evident that there was a great deal of interest and enthusiasm among the youth to explore various career paths.

31 Division NCOs had a fantastic time attending the Earth Day event at Downsview Park and meeting all the amazing organizations and businesses promoting environmental sustainability.

31 Division Neighbourhood Community Officers (NCOs) presented an Elder Abuse Awareness session to the members of the Grandravine Italian Seniors Club.

31 Division NCOs attended James Cardinal McGuigan’s Wellness Room along with Dandy the Trauma Dog and her wonderful handler Roman! Some students were able to interact with a dog for the first time in their life. The staff and students had a great visit with Dandy.

31 Division NCOs had the opportunity to attend CW Jefferys Collegiate Institute and speak to members of the Student Parents Counsel, current and past students as well as members from the TDSB Safe and Caring Schools. Officers shared a presentation on Cyber Safety and provided general school safety tips for attendees.

Ask kids this question - What do you want to see in your community? Their answers may surprise you. Grade 6 kids were asked to build what they would like to see in their community. Their answers varied of course, and some may have an impact on you.

Vehicle theft has increased significantly in the GT A recently. How you can reduce the risk of theft to your vehicle.

Presenting “Street Safety” to our awesome Kindergarten and Grade 1 students at Yorkwoods Public School. Building a safer community starts with educating our youngest members. Empowering them with the knowledge to stay safe as they explore their world.

NCOs attended Centennial College-Downsview Campus and toured the Bombardier Centre for Aerospace and Aviation. Because of the relationships we build with our local high schools we are able to connect students to educational opportunities like those offered here.

This is a two day program that Canadian Red Cross is teaching. These students are training to help their community!

Who said Saturday mornings can’t be fun and productive? 🤔📚 We have teamed up with local youth from our Glenfield-Jane Heights Neighbourhood for a homework program that promotes positivity and education, fostering a stronger connected community.

Fraud Prevention Month is an annual campaign that seeks to help you recognize, reject and report fraud. This year’s theme, "Tricks of the trade: What’s in a fraudster’s toolbox?" will help Canadians recognize the increasingly sophisticated tricks and tools scammers use to entrap victims.

31 and 32 Division Neighbourhood Community Officers attended the Toronto Police College with 25 students ranging from grades 7 to 12 who completed a Babysitting certificate.
