We put our food presentation skills to the test, alongside members from the 31 Division Auxiliary, 31 Division CPLC, 13 Division CPLC, Black Community Consultative Committee (BCCC), @tps13div, staff from Kitchen 24, and many others.
We spent the remainder of the day delivering these prepared meal packages to families throughout our 31 Division Neighbourhoods.
There are many vulnerable residents throughout Toronto and surrounding areas that have lost access to social services and basic necessities due to COVID-19. Kitchen24 wants to be part of the solution by using their space, volunteers and resources to bring food to those who need it most.
Since quarantine began, Kitchen24 started making 500-700 cooked meals daily and donating them to nursing homes and shelters throughout our community. Kitchen24 has been making meals daily and continue to serve our community. However, Kitchen24 knows that 500 is not enough. Their facility has the capacity to create more, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and they plan to keep on going for as long as there are mouths to feed during this pandemic.
