End of Summer Safe Outdoor Play BBQ

Shoreham/ Driftwood End of Summer Safe Outdoor Play BBQ was amazing today.

The children had a great time. They even had a special visit from #Batman along with the #Batmobile#Batgirl and #wonderwoman. They also had lots of food, music, games and ice cream.

The families here have been through a lot due to gun and gang violence. To see the empty parks on beautiful sunny days due to fear was absolutely unacceptable. This resulted in the “Safe Outdoor Play” to get the kids out to be kids again.

To put a smile on their faces, local community residents, businesses, Toronto Police Officers, TCHC Special Constables and Jane & Finch Mall Security Officers all joined forces to make them feel special and loved by everyone around them. Their smiles were priceless!

Human Trafficking
21 Apr, 2022
Human Trafficking Can Be Hard to See. In this modern-day form of slavery, traffickers can maintain control over a victim in many different ways. It might be physical or psychological, through manipulation, threats, and the abuse of trust and power. Victims may be trafficked by someone they know: a former or current partner, family member, friend, co-worker, or boss. Better understanding the facts about human trafficking, who is at risk, how traffickers recruit and exploit victims, and what signs to look for is a major step in helping to fight this widespread and often invisible crime.

Thief breaking into car
By Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) 25 Mar, 2022
On average, a car is stolen every 6 minutes in Canada. Every year, people are injured or die as a result of auto theft. When it's in the hands of a thief, a stolen car is like a loaded gun. Vehicle thieves have absolutely no regard for public safety and the rules of the road.
