SEXUAL ASSAULT AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Women who have been victimized by violence are a Toronto Police Service Priority. Police Chief Mark Saunders believes that the Toronto Police Service must continue to work closely with their community partners to ensure that victims of domestic violence and their children get the help and support they need to leave abusive relationships and rebuild their lives.

YourChoice.to  is a one-stop shop for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence to find resources and support services that are accessible to them. Whether their choice is to confide in a friend, go to the hospital, seek legal advice or report to the police, the website is designed to empower survivors to make choices with respect to the process that is right for them.

The YourChoice.to website features:

  • a downloadable Guide for Survivors Sexual Assault — a 26-page Guide dedicated to providing answers to questions most commonly asked by survivors of sexual assault — translated into 12 different languages
  • a community resource map
  • video messages
